STREAMNET DATA STORE

Add Your Data Set

Use our Data Publishing Service to add your data set to the Data Store.

The StreamNet Data Store is a searchable archive of data sets related to fish and other aquatic resources that are not of the specific data types included in the main StreamNet database. These data sets come from many different sources and are provided for download in their original formats. To add your own data set to the Data Store, use our Data Publishing Service.

StreamNet did not participate in creation of most of these data sets, and we are not able to answer questions about those we did not help develop. For questions about the data sets available from this page, please contact the originator of the particular data set.

To search the Data Store, enter key words, project numbers, species, methods, etc. into the search box below and click "Search".

Purpose of Data Set Staff of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and U.S. Geological Survey are writing a paper summarizing the historical and contemporary juvenile life history of Snake River fall Chinook salmon. This is one of the datasets used in the paper.
Summary / Abstract This data set contains tagging and detection information for juvenile fall Chinook salmon that moved downstream through the Snake and Columbia rivers during the winters of 2004-2006 when bypass and PIT-tag detection facilities were not operated.
Broad Biological Groups Fishes
Taxa Chinook salmon Oncorhynchus tshawytscha (Walbaum, 1792)
Location The entire lower Snake and Columbia rivers down to Bonneville Dam.
NPCC Subbasins (2001 Subbasins) Lower Columbia: Columbia lower
Columbia Plateau: Snake lower

Data structure description The Excel file contains three sheets. The "Tagging data" sheet contains all the data pertaining to the tagging of fish for this study. To the right of the data are a list of the column names and their definitions. The "Detection data" sheet contains all the detection data for the tagged fish. It is broken into PIT-tag detection dates and locations and radio-tag detection dates and locations. The "Detection ReadMe" sheet provides all the definitions for the columns in the "Detection data" sheet.
