Purpose of Data Set The purpose was to determine if 8-mm PIT tags are detected at the same rates as larger PIT tags at mainstem dams. This is a necessary first step in determining the efficacy of implanting small fish (down to 45 mm) with PIT tags to better represent the population at large during tagging.
Summary / Abstract This contains detection information on 4 different PIT tags (8-mm Oregon RFID, 8-mm Biomark, 9-mm Biomark, 12-mm Biomark) implanted into subyearling fall Chinook salmon and released into the fish bypass at Lower Granite Dam.
