STREAMNET DATA STORE

Add Your Data Set

Use our Data Publishing Service to add your data set to the Data Store.

The StreamNet Data Store is a searchable archive of data sets related to fish and other aquatic resources that are not of the specific data types included in the main StreamNet database. These data sets come from many different sources and are provided for download in their original formats. To add your own data set to the Data Store, use our Data Publishing Service.

StreamNet did not participate in creation of most of these data sets, and we are not able to answer questions about those we did not help develop. For questions about the data sets available from this page, please contact the originator of the particular data set.

To search the Data Store, enter key words, project numbers, species, methods, etc. into the search box below and click "Search".

Purpose of Data Set Fish were released to analyze movement behavior in relation to environmental variables and fish physiology. The intent was to gain insight into factors responsible for life history divergence between populations of Snake and Clearwater river fall Chinook salmon.
Summary / Abstract This data set contains tagging, release, and detection information of subyearling fall Chinook salmon radio/PIT tagged in the Clearwater River, Idaho and tracked to Lower Granite Dam on the Snake River in 2007. It also contains ancillary information such as flow, temperature, and day length data that were used in analyses.
Broad Biological Groups Fishes
Taxa Chinook salmon Oncorhynchus tshawytscha (Walbaum, 1792)
Location Clearwater River, Idaho from its mouth upstream to river kilometer 53 (Kayler's Landing), and Lower Granite Reservoir from the dam (rkm 173) to the confluence of the Clearwater River (rkm 224).

Data structure description This spreadsheet contains 7 tabs:
"Read me": This provides definitions of all the column names in the "All Data" and "8 Day Data" sheets.
"All Data": This contains relevant data on fish that were at large in the study area for the duration of their radio-tag life (about 45 days)
"8 Day Data": Contains the same data as in "All Data" except it is truncated at 8 days, the tag life in another study.
"Tagging": Contains all the data related to radio tagging and release. Column definitions are provided at the top of this sheet.
"PIT detections": This contains detection of PIT-tagged fish at mainstem dams. It was downloaded from PTAGIS. Column definition are provided at the top of this sheet.
"Flows and temps": This contains flow and temperature data that was downloaded from DART. Column names are self explanatory.
"Day length": Contains the number of hours of daylight for each day at Clarkston, WA for 2007. This was downloaded from the U.S. Navy. Website is provided. Column names are self explanatory.
