    Abstract: These data delineate 10-minute latitude zones for the U.S. West Coast Exclusive Economic Zone.
    Purpose: These data were developed for Pacific States Marine Fisheries Commission in cooperation with the National Marine Fisheries Service Northwest Region and the Pacific Fishery Management Council in support of an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) to consider the designation and conservation of Essential Fish Habitat (EFH) for Pacific Coast Groundfish. These data were consolidated and integrated in a GIS format to support spatially explicit groundfish habitat modelling and impacts assessment on a coastwide scale.

    Attribute_Accuracy_Report:  Attributes were generated automatically and correctly identify the latitude zone depicted by the polygon. 
  Logical_Consistency_Report:  All 10-minute latitude boxes were generated via computer program, therefore they are consistently represented across the data set.
  Completeness_Report:  Latitude zone polygons were generated for the entire U.S. West Coast Exclusive Economic Zone.

    Horizontal_Positional_Accuracy:
      Horizontal_Positional_Accuracy_Report: Corners of the latitude boxes were generated in latitude/longitude coordinates via computer program, and generated into an ArcInfo coverage in double precision.  Therefore, the positional accuracy of the initial coverage (in geographic coordinates) is quite high.  However, this data set is projected to Albers projection, with original arcs being densified to 0.01 degrees, therefore, the projected coverage has a lower level of spatial precision and accuracy.

        Projected the geographic coverage to Albers Equal Area projection.
