The sensor used to acquire the data was a prototype. this combined with changing atmospheric conditions during the 4+ hour data acquisition time resulted in inconsistencies between the individual images adding a great deal of time to the classification phase of the project.

Resolution:approximately 1m x 1m. Since the data was georeferenced to maximize positional accuracy in the bay itself at the expense of accuracy in the uplands. Positional Accuracy:After georeferencing, positional accuracy was approximately 5 meters in the bay itself, but as high as 40 meters in the uplands.

Process_Description:
Multispectral returns for each frame were sorted into 10-25 classes. The classes were then classified as vegetation, substrate/developed, or water. For the "vegetation pixels" between 30-40 spectral classes were assigned to an unsupervised classification process and assigned to 6 classes. Pixels classified as "substrate/developed" were treated in like fashion using 40 spectral bins for each of the 7 subsections and classified into 4 substrate classes. The vegetation and substrate classifications were then merged for each subsection and joined to form a composite for Tillamook Bay. All remaining pixels were classified as water.
