STREAMNET DATA STORE

Add Your Data Set

Use our Data Publishing Service to add your data set to the Data Store.

The StreamNet Data Store is a searchable archive of data sets related to fish and other aquatic resources that are not of the specific data types included in the main StreamNet database. These data sets come from many different sources and are provided for download in their original formats. To add your own data set to the Data Store, use our Data Publishing Service.

StreamNet did not participate in creation of most of these data sets, and we are not able to answer questions about those we did not help develop. For questions about the data sets available from this page, please contact the originator of the particular data set.

To search the Data Store, enter key words, project numbers, species, methods, etc. into the search box below and click "Search".

Purpose of Data Set Purpose provided in Abstract
Summary / Abstract The following maps depict preliminary data for releases of hatchery reared salmon during calendar year 2000 that were mass marked with an adipose fin clip. These data were compiled at the request of the Northwest Power Planning Council, who wanted to know how much progress had been made toward marking hatchery fish so that they would be recognizable in a selective fishery. Initial Data were compiled during Spring, 2001, and then revised in August 2001. Official release data are not yet available from all agencies. Therefore, these figures should be considered preliminary and changes or corrections may occur. Fish may have been marked for purposes other than to facilitate selective fisheries, and some groups were intentionally not marked for specific reasons.

Fin clipping data are not part of the standard StreamNet database. StreamNet coordinated development of these maps at the request of the Power Planning Council because the Regional Mark Information System's new database version that will access this information had not been completed and formally adopted, and release data for calendar year 2000 had not been completed and submitted to RMIS by all agencies at the time of the request. Also, RMIS staff was short due to vacation leave, so StreamNet undertook compilation of the information.
