The StreamNet Data Store is a searchable archive of data sets related to fish and other aquatic resources that are not of the specific data types included in the main StreamNet database. These data sets come from many different sources and are provided for download in their original formats. To add your own data set to the Data Store, use our Data Publishing Service.
StreamNet did not participate in creation of most of these data sets, and we are not able to answer questions about those we did not help develop. For questions about the data sets available from this page, please contact the originator of the particular data set.

Purpose of Data Set
For the past five years, we have been studying smallmouth bass predation on juvenile fall Chinook salmon in Lower Granite Reservoir in the Snake River. We have produced information on bass diets, bass abundance, bass consumption rates of juvenile Chinook salmon, and total loss of juvenile Chinook to predation.
Summary / Abstract
Data collected in 2016 contain the catch of smallmouth bass in Lower Granite Reservoir and their stomach contents from which we estimated consumption of juvenile fall Chinook salmon. Fish were collected by electrofishing and sampling was stratified by habitat categories defined as suitable for fall Chinook, natural (natural shoreline but not suitable for fall Chinook), and riprap (artificial and not suitable for fall Chinook). The data sets contain information on habitat sampled, catch of smallmouth bass and fall Chinook, and diet information from bass.

Data structure description
File: Streamnet Predation 2016 This file contains three tabs. The first is "Read me" which defines all column names in the other two sheets. The "Site Data" tab contains data related to sampling each site as well as fish catch. The "Fish Data" tab contains the diet information collected from sampled smallmouth bass. These two sheets are linked by a common column called "Transect ID."
File: Field Stomach Data 2016 This file contains three tabs. The first is "Read me" which defines all column names in the other two sheets. The "Catch Data" tab contains data related to sampling each site as well as fish catch. The "Fish Data" tab contains lengths and weights of collected fish. Diet data from collected fish will be added later as analyses are still underway. These two sheets can be linked by "Date."
